I just recently started following you so i don't have the full lore of your murderous gay religiously traumatized doggos, BUT, from my understanding, they are Italian and i don't know what part of Italy they are from, yet i can't help headcanoning Vasco as Tuscan, while Machete is probably from some part of Veneto. And as an Italian who has heard Tuscans and Veneto dialet, well it's an hilarious mental image.

Vasco is indeed Tuscan, Florentine to be specific. He comes from a wealthy and influential noble family that has lived in Florence for centuries. He's proud of his roots, and it's usually easy for strangers to tell where he's from. He's a resonably successful politician and has worked as an ambassador and representative of Florence on numerous occasions.

Machete is originally Sicilian (ironically about as far from Veneto as possible), although he was taken to mainland at young age and has lived in several places since then, before ending up in Rome. The way I see it, he exhibits very little local color, his demeanor and (even though Italian hadn't become a standardized language yet) way of speaking are formal, neutral and scarcely give away any hints about his personal history, at least in the 16th century canon.

Ok I know I'm heavily biased here but like I kinda love that Astarion's romance is one of the few in this type of video game where you basically end up canonically unmarried and childfree in his "good" ending? Just travelling the world??

maybe with the ending.. make it be like the link between Breezepelt's leaving to join Kin and his POV in AVOS? of course from Nightcloud's perspective but

like. she would be injured and recovering away from the clan. but they would be unaware that she is alive and like in canon assume she died and hold her a vigil. Breezepelt, who is already at low point, taking it very badly - yes he was pushing her away bc he was hurt and angry and started taking it out on her, but.. it's still his mom. his Mi. and she is dead? or is this stupid clan just going to believe this to make it easier? are they really giving up on looking for her, or her body??

i can see Nightcloud being the one of very few, if not THE Only one, things that kept Breezepelt in WindClan at this point. and without her, what's the point? it's not like anyone else likes him. the link is gone and they buried it in a bodyless vigil. so it's what pushes him to actuall take the step and leave.

not sure how well it would align with the timeline and events. and how soon Darktail was assembling cats from other clans like Breeze. but i think it would be interesting and heartbreaking if at the end of her SE, Nightcloud just arrived back to WindClan and asks where Breezepelt is and someone tells her.. he either was missing since this morning or just left the clan earlier the same day. like, just have them miss each other by a hair.

I'm thinking that the second-to-last chapter is her with Pickle, having a bit of a sabbatical to unpack everything that happens through the story. Mostly because I want to throw her into some kind of pretty garden as a nice setting for this lmaoo

A LOT of BB stuff is being added to Nightcloud's Pannage that wasn't in the main series; Hillrunner's abuse, her mentor Addersong, several expanded little background characters now complete with their own side conflicts. I think what I can bind all these things with is Nightcloud considering what a Clan means.

Because of her new reputation, I'm noticing I'm writing scenes where she's intentionally doing and saying things to try and sway them. While also grappling with her resentment towards them, and things she can't change.

There's a bit of a melancholy air so far, so I'm starting to feel like the best ending is just having a bit of space to herself to think. Ultimately, she decides that it's more than Breezepelt or Crowfeather that binds her to WindClan. It's the life and connections she COULD have.

WindClan cats are also quite religious next to other Clans, so I really do mean "sabbatical." I'm going to have Addersong die of old age shortly after they reconnect, so she's in Pickle's Garden talking to her new friend, choosing cats she's lost to pray to as patron spirits to give her the traits she feels she needs, and just recovering both physically from injury and spiritually from turmoil.

So all that to say; it works well that by the time she gets back, Breezepelt has joined The Kin. He was one of the first to join when he started calling for members anyway, so having Night be gone for about two or three weeks sounds appropriate.

The way people are becoming anti-children nowadays is really sad. And I'm not talking about people not wanting to have kids of their own, that's fine and something that shouldn't be shamed nor up to someone else to debate. No, I'm talking about the people who adamantly hate these little humans for simply existing, wanting to ban them from spaces due to them having emotional reactions that they are still learning to understand (you know, the kind of lessons that everyone had to learn and figure out at one point). It's gotten to the point where I've even seen these types of people genuinely support children being harmed and deny their hurt under the consensus of "Well then maybe they shouldn't be there," in your average public space. Like, imagine thinking hating on children, people who need assistance and guidance, is something to be proud of.

When WWX time traveled right after the Sun Shot Campaign, he just planned to stage his death and live as a Rogue Cultivator.

He didn't expect the Waterborne Abyss to follow him like a pet. A massive one the size of a horse that barked at "suspicious" people (and by suspicious he meant, all people "it" didn't know, so basically everyone). That was so clingy it remained draped over him like a wet blanket at all hours, even when he was trying to relieve himself.

Then the Lans sent someone to exorcise him since he was freaking out the locals.

Additional note: And that someone turned out to be LQR that was supervising a nighthunt, along with a contingent of this year's batch of visiting disciples.

JWY was not prepared to meet the Ghost of his late brother, completely wrapped in a thick layer of resentment (and WWX was not prepared to meet him either).

WWX* debating whether he should tell him that YES he's actually alive, the body YMJ cremated that was wearing his clothes and carrying his sword wasn't his, that he's now a demonic cultivator with a pet Abyss and SURPRISE SURPRISE, LONG TIME NO SEE CHENGCHENG. Or if he just should pass as a Ghost since he's layered in Resentful Energy anyway.

LQR definitely fainted. And LWJ tried to convince this "Ghost" to follow them to Gusu so that they would help him move on, since he was polite and definitely could be reasoned with.

So, at first the plan was an all-pup team. No first-or second-stage evolutions, no non-dog pokemon. And then I figured out Suo’s team and had to tweak things because of the Plusle-Minun duo I subsequently became obsessed with as a concept. And then I realized that I wanted to show Nirei’s grown as a trainer since meeting Suo, and what better way to do that than evolving his partner pokemon, Lillipup? The puppy spirit it still going strong with Growlithe (Nirei’s insane loyalty), Yamper (excitable and electric, which I think suits Nirei - also “flashy” lmao), and Fidough (this one just reminds me of Nirei, okay?). Herdier’s the big brother of the group now by virtue of just being literally bigger than the rest of them. I think. I’m not checking pokedex heights at the moment, forgive me.

Anyway! Nirei’s a research assistant, studying under Professor Shitara (y’know, one of the only adult in the series who could take on the professor role), who is, coincidentally, Umemiya and Kotoha’s adoptive father. Nirei has no idea, though he’s spotted some questionable photos in the lab that look almost like the current champion, except that’s totally impossible and way too distracting when Nirei’s got work to do!

He met Suo on one of his more daring expeditions, and it was only thanks to Suo’s quick thinking (and his even quicker Mawile) that Nirei didn’t go falling off a mountain. Suo offered to accompany him for a while, and they just sort of… haven’t separated since? Nirei’s always excited when they reach a gym town and Suo battles all-out, but he’s equally fascinated with Suo’s participation in contests (even rarer than his gym battles but still something he does with some regularity).

They’ve crossed paths with Sakura a few times — Sakura hasn’t gotten Suo to battle him yet and he’s livid over it — and Nirei’s eager to keep track of both rookies, especially since Sakura had overtaken Suo in the gym challenge the last time they met.

I've got to say, I've been doing a lot of research on Italy recently and I literally can't stop thinking about your boys. I'm over here trying to read about whatever Crusade and my brain is just a constant loop of "isn't Machete a cardinal? And Vasco was from like Verona, right?" Not super conducive to learning anything, but I am enjoying myself and thought you should know.

I'd argue that getting invested in your characters and their stories and having to do background research for them is actually a great way to accumulate knowledge about various subjects. Often it's stuff you probably would never get around to reading about otherwise. I'm not saying it's always information you'll have many practical uses for, but learning about new things is fun and it's beneficial to you and your brain in the long run.

Vasco is from Florence actually! It's usually considered to be the birthplace and the main hub of the entire Renaissance movement. Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo lived and influenced there and Dante Alighieri (author of The Divine Comedy/Dante's Inferno) was florentine as well, albeit he lived several centuries prior to them.

I keep thinking of a Mobrei soulmate AU to the tune of the fic Polarity by Writeous specifically where you have a soulmark but the TRUE bond is that whenever you share blood with your soulmate, you travel back in time to a time they needed support as an invisible phantom that can only interact with them—and I'm just picturing the first time Reigen and Mob swap blood to confirm and Reigen getting yeeted back into a chaotic nursery room in the middle of the night, tiny ???% Mob floating above his crib crying and wailing as his things fly around him at high speeds and his parents watch helplessly from the doorway. And Reigen, who literally probably learned about his tiny soulmate like ten minutes ago, considering—sighs and just scoops the wailing baby Mob out of the air and holds him. And, since ???% is the one awake, he can see Reigen and is able to interact with him more before Mob calms back down and wakes back up. By then, Mob's parents (why do we never get their NAMES) have kinda scolded themselves for not helping their own child and being afraid of him, enough that this became a moment his soulmate needed to step in, and they come in to take back over—thus Reigen's first big change to Mob's life.

Reigen, however, had a very different experience with his soulmate and is incredibly reluctant to activate the bond after they've confirmed it—because while Mob and everyone else thinks it's platonic, Reigen, who has experienced far more soulmate visits than Mob has at that point, knows that it isn't. But of course, like fate always does, circumstances have them activating the bond far more than he'd like. He's there, afterwards, for every moment Mob needs him, like a delayed memory.

Because he still remembers every time Mob was there for him, even if he doesn't know it yet.

Imagine that after a long time dedicated to healing, Ayato hears from Thoma that you’re trying to open up to people again. You’ve been spending more time outside and even initiated conversations with some of the household staff! You haven’t ventured out of the Kamisato estate yet, but still, it was progress. He’s relieved (and a little jealous of Thoma), but he also knows that you’re still in a delicate place so he continues to ensure that you never see him. The last thing he wants to do is to undo the progress you’ve made. Nonetheless, he still hopes that one day, he’ll be able to earn your forgiveness and stand in your presence again.

That day comes sooner than he thought it would. He had just returned to the estate when he chanced to hear a strangely familiar laughter from the garden. He’s certain he’s never heard it before. He would definitely remember something that makes him feel so elated. Nonetheless, there was something about it that makes him feel like he should know it. Before he could figure it out, his legs had already brought him to the garden. He realised then and there that it was your voice that he heard. Of course it was. You were in the company of Thoma, his sister, Taroumaru, and many, many other animals. It was a beautiful, idyllic scene. He could watch it forever were he permitted, but he knew that his presence would only be a stain on such pure beauty. He forced himself to turn away.

Little did he know that the wind had already alerted you to his presence. While you appreciated his thoughtfulness, you also knew that you can’t avoid him forever. After all, he was doing only what he thought was best during the hunt. It wouldn’t be fair to hold it against him. So you steeled yourself and called out, “Won’t you join us, Commissioner? You must be tired after such a long day.”

the first thing he notices is that your voice isn’t rough anymore, that though it’s quiet it’s not as raspy as it was. the second is that you’d called for him, his feet stopping on instinct at the call of his god.

he turns slowly, as to not startle, taking in the scene again. you really do look beautiful, the sun pulling out details in the color of your eyes, the various accents on your kimono perfectly complementary. thoma did an excellent job ordering your clothing, not that ayato would expect any less for someone of your status.

“are you certain?”

he surprises himself with how soft his voice is, watching the way your fingers sink into taroumaru’s fur instead of daring to make eye contact. he looks comfortable, chin resting on your knee, and for the briefest of moments, ayato feels almost jealous.

and then it passes.

you nod, tilting your head to invite him over, and he only hesitate for a second before walking toward you. there’s a space between ayaka and thoma, one that he slowly fills. he’s certainly going to leave here with more than a few dirt scuffs on his clothes, but he can’t find himself caring, folding his hands deliberately in his lap.

you prompt thoma about the story he was telling, and he continues, hands waving as he tells you about a particularly stubborn civilian that was harassing a merchant in the city. you listen, seeming just as at ease as when he first saw you. as if he wasn’t there at all.

a bright blue butterfly flaps through the air, landing on a snack tray in the center. you extend a hand toward it, “thankfully you were there, right?” and it climbs eagerly into your hand, letting you deposit it on ayaka’s knee instead.

it’s so easy for you, how nature bends to your will. your attention is entirely on thoma’s story, and yet you can calmly move around what would flee from most’s touch. the world trusts you, trusts the delicate wings of a butterfly to your companions, and he… he’d…

his hands tighten, nails digging into his skin. not here, he chides himself. not when the air is so calm, not when ayaka is chiming in about a seller that increased the price for her when the same thing was being sold to another for cheaper, not when the wave of her hand startles the butterfly enough to send it flying away, back to you. his betrayal doesn’t have a place around the maple snack board, among the half-empty plates and bowls atop it, among your laugh in the air as the butterfly lands on your shoulder.

ayaka picked up a piece of dango, and he accepted the one she held out to him.
